Amazing. It was 5,000 just a couple months ago.

It just broke $13,000 just hours ago I thought. It just doesn't stop!

I'm slightly confused that nicehash had Bitcoin stolen and it's going up? Normally this would crash it

ETHBTC ratio is getting absolutely battered.

It's absurd how badly BTC is leaving everything in the dust.

Best case scenario BTC flies up to something stupid like 40K and corrects to 20K and all the alts recover to their typical ratios.

1. It's only $60M

2. It's a failure of Nicehash, Bitcoin is unaffected

3. Lightning Network had a successful test, which is the most significant crpyto news in history

4. Futures market FOMO still strong

i had ~100 bitcoins from like 2012, sold 50 of them when price was $1500 and holding on to the last 50, but will probably sell soon for a tidy profit

How the hell is bitcoin not a scam?

And for that matter not moddable for being a "make money fast" scheme.

It kind of is a scam though. Because it's hard to actually manage it properly, and it's a bit more complicated to make tons of money from it. Unless you bought a shit load of it at start and just sat on it.

If I was going to invest in something that would actually be a wiser choice. It would be something like an IRA or an actual investment portfolio.

Exactly. That's what's worked for decades, people just want fast money. I can't wait to hear the "back to rags" story of a rags to riches bitcoin buyer. Just like the lottery.

Because people believe it's worth something.

Real money is involved and you can actually by things with it.

Cryptos are here. Get with it or get left behind.

You can do both. All the money I've put into crypto is after I invest the yearly limits for my 401k/IRA

PEople believe a lot of stupid things. There are still people who believe the Earth is flat. People believing something is true means nothing.

Real money is also involved in Holistic medicine, most of which is a scam. And Steam stopped accepting Bitcoin to the confusion of literally everyone because they didn't know they ever accepted it. The only thing you can buy with Bitcoin is porn, sexdolls, and illicit transactions on places like the Silk Road's successors.

This sounds like an advertising slogan.

I'm so upset that I didn't jump on this back when my aunt broke it all down to me. It was only at $275 at that time and made perfect sense. Sounded like the perfect investment. It dipped down to like 100 something tho so I decided not to. If only I had bought some at that 100 valley :(

I wouldn't dwell on it too much. I knew about it for years too. But, knowing myself, I figure if I bought it early I likely would have sold it for whatever profit I could take after the Mt Gox fiasco.

Don't get on board that's fine.

But I think it's just plain stupid to think crypto currency isn't a thing. It's not going away it has way too much momentum and block chain solves a lot of problems we have seen and experienced with current money.
