Pro Tip to noobs out there.

If you do buy at an all time high, wait for it to go higher until you sell it. Look at all these coins. Whether it's bitcoin, litecoin, FunFair or almost any other fucking coin (as long as it isn't pure shit) they always go up in value over time. Almost always.

If the price goes down, that doesn't really mean sell. It just means you might have to hold it longer to make a profit. There are coins that shoot up and down every single day. It's very easy to get greedy or fearful and have those emotions cloud your judgment.

In theory you shouldn't buy at an all time high, but the thing with cryptos is that you never know when that will be. I dumped all my bitcoin into litecoin when it hit the "all time high" of $120. Soon it was $160...it dipped down to $125 or $130 and I really thought about selling but I didn't. I held steady and then by Tuesday morning it was $370.

That might sound like a fluke, but that sort of thing happens more often than you think. Sure, I wish I had sold at $370 and bought the dip, but I didn't do that and so now I'm just holding it. I have no doubt that coin will once again be that high.

If it's a GOOD COIN. If it's truly a good coin, and not complete shit, people will realize that and it will surpass it's all time high. Look at bitcoin, it continuously broke all time highs throughout the year as did many other coins (ETH, LTC, etc)

Fun Fair is a good coin. You may have been imprecise by buying at ATH today. But that doesn't mean it's not a good hold. It will probably pass the ATH again. It could be today, it could be in a few days when they make their major announcement Wednesday. It could be in January when things get rolling, but rest assured it will happen.

What alt coins do you recommend getting into?

I got some into bitcoin and eth like thirty bucks in total because I'm new to this. I may put some into Litecoin.

I'm thinking about increasing what I've invested but I'm looking to see when the three big ones calm down because eth and bitcoin have been really down.

In order of what you should invest in (imo):

1. ETH
2. BTC
3. LTC
4. XMR
5. BAT
6. WTC
7. NEO
8. SC
9. Bcash

Not really, I don't do much research into new altcoins. Bloom maybe, Cardano or whatever is ripping ass, SC, BAT, and DOGE are all cheap. You should be looking for good coins with promising teams and low market caps rather than the price of the coin itself.

If it's never enforced then why would ISPs lobby so hard to repeal it? And how is cryptocurrency resistant to the effects of reduced shareholder confidence?

How do you determine how many altcoins to buy? For example I've got like 20 ripple coins since everyone is talking about it and its dirt cheap and only a few others like in SC and CVC.
KainWind 5 days ago#20
Cardano seems like a coin that is a solid investment IMO. It came out in September and it's already done as well as it has. I can definitely see it making people rich in a few years. The problem with it though is the circulating supply. In order for it to hit even $1 a coin it would need something like a 28 billion in market cap, so it still has a long way to go.

Might be able to make some money off of NXT, I think on Christmas if you own NXT you will be given 0.5 Ignis for every NXT, and Ignis is a new blockchain. I imagine people will start pumping NXT closer to Christmas, but I'm extremely new to this and I could be completely wrong on that.

You buy as much as you're willing to invest. Don't look at it by coin count, determine how much money you want to put in and then see how many coins you'll get with it.

In many places speed limits are rarely enforced and everyone speeds all the time. Should no one care about the speed limit then? No, because it creates an opportunity for abuse of power, a pretense for harassing someone when police decide they want to. Even if the FCC is lax in their enforcement of this, it creates uncertainty for business. They might get away with violating it and might not.

Cryptocurrency isn't immune to reduced confidence, but why should either these regulations or ISP activity done in their absence reduce your confidence? There's no reason to think there will be any impact.

I see three options to buy LTC:

1. Register on Coinbase, link your bank account, buy at a 1.5% fee

2. Register on Coinbase, transfer money to your linked GDAX account (same company, different website), wait 4-5 business days for a money deposit to fill, then buy LTC at either a 0.25% or 0.00% fee (though waiting 4-5 days means the price can change)

3. Register on Gemini, buy BTC and ETH at a very low fee (I forgot what their fee is but it's low as fuck), move the BTC and ETH to either Coinbase, Bittrex, or Binance, then trade to LTC (or any alt).

Also I can't speak for the Exodus wallet, I suggest a Ledger Nano S or a Trezor but those can take some time for shipment.

What makes a coin "good"? I have no idea what kind of information I should be looking for between altcoins that determines whether or not it could be a good investment. People just say bid on these or those altcoins but don't state why.

Most of them seem to do the same exact thing which is to be decentralized with quick processing transactions and low fees. What am I looking for beyond that?

That way if I lose $50-$500 bucks, it's not really a big issue. But if it goes back up to monstrous amounts. I'll just cash it all out and put that money into a long term investment fund.

Both really good buys. If you purchase Ark, don't forget to move it to a local wallet and stake so you get free Ark every week. I can give you more detailed instructions when you get to that point.

Everything is pumping hard it seems. My Ark is flourishing.

@clearaflagrantj have you read anything about REQ? People expect it to explode by late 2018 but idk how much of what I'm reading is just straight shilling.

I did a minimal amount of research, I'll probably just dump $100 on it as fun money and see what happens, I still have my shitty Bitcoin Gold to dump so I'd rather bet on REQ and other alts

Am I able to get altcoins with USD somewhere?

You can use Bitstamp for some And Coinbase is most common

Other alt markets you have to xfer bit or ether and convert
